THE music business moves in mysterious ways

THE music business moves in mysterious ways. Singer Frances Black was awarded with a platinum disc at a party this week in recognition of 15,000 sales of her new album and the album, The Smile On Your Face, hasn't been released yet. Apparently it's all got to do with orders from record shops and they're such a canny bunch that they only order what they know will sell - hence the platinum disc.

The party was full of music types.

Teresa Lowe was there with husband Frank McNamara who produced the record in his state of the art studio at the couple's home in Dunshaughlin. Frances's sister Mary sent her apologies. She is in LA at the moment recording her new album which is being produced by Larry Kline, Joni Mitchell's producer, and industry insiders predict that this could be the album that makes the singer big in America.
