LUCKNOW - In an unconventional bid to stamp out corruption, civil servants in India's most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, have agreed to expose their three most dishonest members through a secret ballot.

"Some of us have played the game we should not have played," said Mr Surendra Mohan, president of the Uttar Pradesh Indian Administrative Service Officers' Association. The names of three accused offenders polling at least 100 votes from among the association's 540 members will be submitted to the government for prosecution.
