A second bomb exploded tonight near the Netzarim Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip, as Israeli and Palestinian negotiators continued talks in the Egyptian resort of Taba, a military spokesman said.
The bomb went off as an Israeli army passed by, and shooting was then exchanged in the sector, the spokesman added. There were no reports of casualties.
Earlier today, a bomb attack in the Gaza Strip against an Israeli tank severely injured a soldier. The attack was claimed by the Ezzedin al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the militant Islamic Palestinian movement Hamas.
"Our group succeeded in blowing up a Zionist tank used to protect military convoys and settlers," it said in a statement.
No claim has yet been laid for the second attack.
The remote-controlled bombs exploded on the road from Netzarim to the Karni crossing point between the Gaza Strip and Israel.
