Police in Co Down say they have discovered a second body following an operation on the Mound Road in Warrenpoint.
The A2 dual carriageway was closed following the discovery of one body at lunchtime today. A subsequent operation, which included British army technical officers, recovered a second body.
After initial difficulties identifying the sex of the bodies, the PSNI have this evening revealed both are male. The men's identity and cause of death has not been established.
The police have appealed for help in identifying the bodies and have said one of the deceased was wearing a zip-up cardigan with green, red and blue horizontal stripes over a light green polo sweater.
The bodies was discovered by a passerby alongside Mound Road, along the main route to Newry.
The back nine holes on Warrenpoint Golf Course, close to the scene, were also closed. "There's a green about 70 yards away from where the police cars are parked," a member of staff at the club said.
