Investigating officers have said they are “extremely concerned” for the welfare of Ciarán Noonan (29), who was abducted in East Wall at about 4.45pm on Thursday October 20th.

Mr Noonan, a father-of-one originally from Blanchardstown, has not been seen since he was chased, beaten and bundled into a black Volkswagen Golf on Russell Avenue.

On Monday, lands were searched in the Ashbourne area of Co Meath. Today, gardaí are searching an area of land on  the old Trim Road from Dunboyne to Trim.

Further searches are planned for the Meath and north Co Dublin areas.

Gardaí asked landowners and people using or crossing lands in these areas to contact gardaí at Store Street, Dublin 1, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station if they have come across anything unusual or suspicious in the last two weeks.

"Similarly if they notice anything they feel may relate to the investigation they are asked to contact the same numbers," the Garda spokesman said.

A woman arrested in connection with the investigation was freed on Saturday. Gardaí said a file would be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
