A major search operation has resumed this morning in the Wicklow Mountains in an attempt to locate a 26-year-old man missing for over two months.

Stephen O'Meara was last seen leaving his home in Rosehill in Wicklow Town at 6.30pm on August 6th 2009.

The Wicklow Garda Divisional Search Team, assisted by the Garda Mounted Unit and Civil Defence and Mountain rescue volunteers, are searching a number of forest and mountainous locations in the Redcross area of Co Wicklow.

Mr O’Meara is described as 6 feet 2 inches in height, of an athletic build with sandy coloured, receding hair.

When he was last seen he was wearing a dark grey Nike zip-up tracksuit top; black tracksuit bottoms bearing a blue Manchester United crest and a blue stripe; a T-shirt with a red stripe across the chest and a pair of black and white Nike Air Max runners. He was also wearing a thick gold chain.
