Police in the North have begun searching waste ground for the remains of a teenager who went missing more than 23 years ago.
Caroline Graham (19) disappeared from her home in Portadown, Co Armagh in April 1989.
PSNI officers are searching an area near Carleton Street, Portadown.
“This stage of the operation will involve clearing away shrubbery and undergrowth so that we can insert probes into the ground to determine the possible existence of human remains said Detective Chief Inspector Gary Crawford, who is in charge of the operation.
He said it could be a “protracted operation” which would include the use of a body recovery dog, earth moving machinery and specialist scanning equipment.
“Police have searched this site previously but science and technology have advanced in recent years to such an extent that we believe it is important to deploy the latest technology and resources in this case,” he added.
Ms Graham was living with her boyfriend in Hanover Street, Portadown when she disappeared. She had been living in the area for two years but was originally from Newry.
Officers have previously carried out searches in the area surrounding her home.
Her parents, sister and brother have been kept informed of the plans. They released a previously unpublished photo of Caroline in the hope that it may prompt someone to come forward with information.
