Scottish Radio Holdings (SRH) today said the outlook for its radio and press businesss was encouraging as it reported full-year group revenues up about 15 per cent.
Scottish Radio - which owns local radio stations and newspapers in Ireland, Scotland and Northern Ireland and local radio stations in England,- also said its like-for-like revenues will have risen around 9 per cent.
Scottish Radio shares, which have outperformed the media sector by around 18 per cent this year.
The company owns nationally franchised Today FMand FM 104in Dublin and a number of newspapers, including the Kilkenny People, the Nationalistand Munster Advertiser, the Tipperary Star, the Leitrim Observerand Longford Leader.
It also owns a long list of local titles in the North and also Cool FMand Downtownradio.
However, the company pulled out of the bidding for Galway Bay FM this summer because the radio station has been valued at €16 million to €18 million.
The British radio sector was boosted on September 20th when Capital Radio and GWR Group said they were in talks about a nil premium all-share merger, kicking off a long-awaited bout of consolidation in the sector.
