Scottish Radio Holdings forecasts earnings for the year to be up 12 per cent on last year's.

Scottish Radio owns the national station Today FM and recently entered negotiations to buy Country 106, marking its first move into the local radio market in the Republic.

Since 1996, the group has spent more than €100 million developing its portfolio of Irish interests, in the regional newspaper market particularly.

Its interests include the Kilkenny People group; the Tipperary Star; the Nationalist and Munster Advertiser; the Leitrim Observerand the Longford Leader.

The company expects full year like-for-like group revenues before acquisitions and disposals to be at last year's level, with a 2 per cent drop in radio revenues offset by a 2 per cent rise in press revenues.

The group estimates revenues will be 12 per cent up on last year if it includes acquisitions and disposals, radio and press revenues.
