The Northern Ireland Office has published the full details of the financial costs of Lord Saville's inquiry into the events of Bloody Sunday.

The Inquiry, which was the longest in UK judicial history cost £191.2 million, while legal costs amounted to £67,603,621 of this.

More than £13 million was paid to Eversheds law firm, employed for the taking of witness statements.

Counsel for the Inquiry, Christopher Clarke was paid more than £4.4 million while Alan Roxburgh was paid more than £3.5 million.

Senior barristers representing the armed forces were paid more than £9 million, while junior barristers were paid more than £7 million.

The total ministry of defence legal costs amounted to £32,553,738.

The operation and maintenance of computer systems cost the Inquiry £25,790,164, while office rent amounted to £19.3 million.

Some £1.3 million was spent on staff travel costs, while £272,652 was spent on stationary.

Almost £5.7 million was spent on IT consultants and £3.2 million on security guard services over a period of 12 years.
