A restaurant in Salthill, was inspected a few days ago by a health inspector who told the court there was evidence of rodent infestation in a food storage area where food was also being cooked.

The inspector said there were rodent droppings everywhere and the general condition of the area would give cause for concern for public health. There were 14 cartons of food that were not refrigerated and mould was growing out of one. Judge John Garavan said it was obvious rats were "sashaying around the place", with a few mice thrown in.
