A statue of the Sacred Heart which the Health Service Executive (HSE) South said it was forced to remove from the entrance of the Killarney Community Hospital “for health and safety reasons” has been re-erected, but not at its original position. The statue is now to the side of the hospital and was put there yesterday morning.
The sudden removal of the red-and-white statue last Friday led to a storm of protest and a row between the Bishop of Kerry and the HSE South.
