A group of South African cable jointers who were recruited to come to Ireland to work in the telecommunications industry but were told within months of their arrival that there was no more work available for them, have settled their High Court action against their employer.

Terms of the settlement were handed into court but were not disclosed. Mr Brian O'Moore SC, for the respondents, said it had been agreed between counsel for both sides that the less said in court about the matter the better.
