Kigali - Rwanda's Supreme Court could sentence a Catholic bishop to death by firing squad today when it pronounces its final verdict in the trial against him for genocide and crimes against humanity.
The case of Bishop Augustin Misago, who has already been held at Kigali Central Prison for over a year, has attracted the attention of the Pope and other senior Vatican officials.
Although Bishop Misago is not accused of taking part in the killing, the Hutu bishop is accused of being one of the planners of Rwanda's 1994 genocide.
