A Russian man (23) is due in Dublin District Court in connection with an attack that has left a man in a critical condition in hospital.
The Ukrainian victim (50) was attacked by two men on Leinster Road in Rathmines on Sunday evening and suffered serious head injuries.
He was taken to James's Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where he underwent surgery. His condition is said to be critical but stable.
Two men were arrested yesterday morning. The second man, also Russian (27), is being held for questioning at Terenure Garda Station.
