NATIONALIST residents have welcomed the RUC's decision to reroute an Orange Order parade on Sunday away from Lower Ormeau Road in south Belfast. Loyalists plan to hold a religious service in protest. A spokesman for the Orange Order condemned the RUC decision, saying it was time for nationalists to show some willingness to compromise. But a Lower Ormeau Concerned Community group spokesman urged the RUC and the Northern Secretary, Sir Patrick Mayhew, to make clear their position regarding future parades in the area this summer.
