LONDON - The much hyped US television screening of a dramatisation of the Princess of Wales's affair with Mr James Hewitt was a viewing disaster.
Huge audiences were expected to tune in for Wednesday's US coast to coast broadcast by the CBS network of Princess in Love, based on Anna Pasternak's book. Although purporting to be the true story of Princess Diana's private life, the two hour drama, screened on prime time TV, attracted fewer than four million households in US viewing terms an unmitigated disaster.
