The criminal damage allegation against Keane apparently relates to the youngster's neck chain being broken during the incident.

The Irish international was charged with the offences on Tuesday after attending Stretford Police Station with his solicitor. He is listed to appear at Old Trafford Magistrates Court at 10 a.m.

Manchester United FC have refused to comment on the charges.
