Shamrock Rovers recorded a narrow 2-1 victory over Cork City courtesy of an own goal by Alan Bennett at Richmond Park this afternoon.
John O'Flynn put Cork ahead with a first half strike but Stepehen Grant levelled proceedings 15 minutes after the restart.
But with three minutes remaining, Shamrock Rovers grabbed the surprise winner. Tony Grant challenged Murray for Lacy's high cross into the box with the ball looping over goalkeeper Devine with Bennett unable to keep the ball out on the line.
The result means Rovers maintain their unbeaten start to the new season and move to within two points of League leaders Shelbourne. It also the first defeat for Cork under the new management of Pat Dolan.
