Shamrock Rovers 0 Slovan Liberic 2 (Agg: 0-4)
Shamrock Rovers' Intertoto Cup adventure ended at Richmond Park as Czech Republic side Slovan Liberec grabbed two late goals to book their place in the third round.
They now play Racing Santander of Spain.
Vaclav Kolousek and substitute Jan Nezmar were on target for Slovan in the final 13 minutes to silence the 5,000-strong crowd as a tiring Rovers found the task of making up the two-goal deficit from the first leg beyond their capabilities.
There was to be no repeat of the heroics in the first round when Polish side Odra Wodzislaw were beaten 3-1 on aggregate.
Rovers made one change from the side that lost 2-0 in the Czech Republic with Trevor Molloy taking over from Shane Robinson in attack.
Rovers started well, forcing two corners in quick succession with the Czechs looking vulnerable in the air and keeper Antonin Kinsky happy to punch a Stephen Grant effort to safety.
But gradually Slovan settled to their task and Jan Polak sent one tremendous effort just over the top with keeper Barry Ryan struggling to get back on his line.
Rovers might have grabbed the all-important opening goal on 18 minutes when a long free-kick out on the right by Stephen Gough found Stephen Grant at the far post only for his header to be grabbed by Kinsky.
The closest Rovers came to scoring was on 33 minutes when a spectacular effort by Jason Colwell flashed just wide of the upright following neat approach work between Alan Reynolds and Tony Grant.
The killer goals came when Kolousek calmly picked his spot to shoot home from six yards.
And to rub salt in Rovers wounds, Slovan added a second goal in 85 minutes. Karol Kisel's shot was blocked but substitute Nezmar was on had to tap home the rebound and end Rovers European dreams for another season.
