Ronnie O'Sullivan claimed he had played the best snooker of his life tonight to beat Mark Williams 9-6 and reach the UK Championship final in York.
It was certainly a high-quality display from the world champion, who notched up three century breaks to overcome the only player ahead of him on the ranking list.
The largest of those three-figure contributions, a 142 in frame seven, put O'Sullivan in line for the £10,000 highest-break prize as it surpassed Dominic Dale's 140 which was previously the biggest of the tournament.
O'Sullivan will tomorrow bid to claim this title for the third time when he meets Ken Doherty and if he maintains the form he showed against the Welshman, it is hard to see him failing to do so.
