Irish Times journalist Lorna Siggins engaged in a hectic episode of upstairs downstairs for the launch of The Woman Who Took Power In The Park, her book about former President Mary Robinson.In the downstairs bar of Buswell's Hotel on Thursday she was busy chatting to the impressive turn out politicos and press while upstairs she ministered to the nutritional needs of 11-week-old son Cian.There to congratulate Ms Siggins were Olive Braiden and Maureen Gaffney. Also present was Denise Rogers, Ruairi Quinn's secretary and the woman credited with first suggesting Mary Robinson for President.Supreme Court Judge Hugh O'Flaherty, Mary Banotti, Nora Owen and Pat Rabbitte were spotted while journalists who attended included Jonathan Philbin Bowman, Stephen Collins and Helen Callanan.Launching the book, Ruairi Quinn said it was a "warts and all" look at the President. Former labour politician, journalist and university lecturer John Horgan was all ears. His own book on Mrs Robinson, An Independent Voice, hits the shelves on Tuesday.
