THE SOCIAL NETWORK:A speakeasy opened at 15 Crown Alley in Temple Bar on Thursday evening called the Vintage Cocktail Club (VCC). The vintage furniture was inspired by the 1920s. The menu includes a selection of forgotten cocktails, including The Millionaire.

Guests were entertained by the ragtime pianist Colm “Stride” O’Brien. There were a few Bonnie and Clyde lookalikes hovering around the three floors of the club which is being managed by Gareth Lambe, who used to work in Harry’s Bar. Reservations are not mandatory and can be emailed in, and half of the occupancy is kept for walk-up guests.

Broadcaster Aidan Power was on the top floor chatting to Mary Scott, girlfriend of Leinster Rugby’s Devin Toner. Scott runs her own cake company called Cake Chick. The musician Bressie and the actor Chris ODowd arrived after 1am with a group of friends.

Meanwhile, Cheryl Cole and her boyfriend Tre Holloway were partying in the Grafton Lounge after her concert at the O2.
