The traffic lights have been switched off pending construction of a new roundabout in Shankill at the junction of the Dublin Road and Shanganagh Road. Temporary lights are in operation and care is required.

Heading towards Galway, there are roadworks on the N6 Dublin Galway road between Aughrim and Kireekil. Avoiding it requires a considerable detour, either by taking the Friary/New Inn/Bullaun road at Ballinasloe and rejoining the N6 at Loughrea or trying to negotiate the maze of minor roads to the north of the N6. Entering Galway from the north, there are roadworks on the N17 in Claregalway.
Roadworks also continue in Donegal on the N15 at Laghey and the N13 at Kilross junction. The Kilross works can be avoided by taking the Cloghroe road at Stranorlar and rejoining the N13 at Drumnacross.
