ALL roads leading into Maghera, Co Derry, were blocked for nearly an hour yesterday by Orangemen as an act of solidarity with the stand off in Drumcree.
The blockade was set up after nearly 400 Orangemen attended their annual service in the town's Presbyterian church. Upwards of 200 Orangemen took part in a similar, peaceful protest in the village of Tobermore, three miles away, after another church service.
At Newtownards', Co Down, more than 100 Orangemen blocked a number of main routes into the town from Belfast. They pledged to continue their action for as long as the Portadown Orangemen were refused permission to follow their traditional route.
The M1 road was blocked by another protest at Moira, 20 miles west of Belfast.
In Dromore, Co Down, more protesters blocked the main Belfast to Dublin road for a period, according to the RUC.
