The Garda sub aqua team will carry out a search of the Liffey today for two youths reported missing yesterday from a home for homeless boys.

The two youths, aged 16 and 18, were residents of Lionsville House, Chapelizod, Dublin. They were last seen on Saturday at about 7 p.m. when they were in a field near the home with a third boy, also a resident. There were horses in the field, and the owners of the horses chased the youths.

According to gardai, one hid in bushes and the other two ran. The third boy said he thought his two companions had jumped into the Liffey, which flows by the field.

They were reported missing at about 5.30 yesterday, and a search was carried out, which will resume this morning.
