A RALLY, air sea rescue demonstrations and visit by English narrow boats are just some of the events planned over the next two weeks at Ringsend in Dublin by the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland (IWAI), in association with the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht.

The IWAI bicentenary celebration, which opened officially yesterday in Ringsend, reaches a climax this weekend when a series of water activities will take place on Sunday afternoon.

Next Tuesday the US ambassador Mrs Jean Kennedy Smith, will launch the Atlantic Challenge a Ringsend Community Training Workshop Project.

A sculpture exhibition by Linda Brunker to mark the event continues at the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht at 43 Mespil Road until Friday, May 3rd.
