LONDON - The British Foreign Secretary, Mr Malcolm Rifkind, yesterday called BBC chairman, Sir Christopher Bland, to account over changes in the World Service. A joint BBC and Foreign Office group has been set up to look into the impact of the proposed reorganisation, which would merge World Service English language news services with mainstream news departments.
