Police have said Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale's decision to leave the directors' box and confront angry supporters after the draw with Everton at Goodison Park was "ill advised".
The travelling fans criticised the management team throughout the 0-0 draw as Leeds extended their barren run to six hours without a goal.
Ridsdale walked around the pitch at the end of the game to try and placate the unhappy Leeds supporters.
Merseyside police Chief Supt Dave Willman said: "We appreciate why he did it, but it was ill advised. A chairman's place is in the directors' box.

"We stressed to Mr Ridsdale we were not happy about what he did. It may well have gone down well with the Leeds fans, but it was a smack in the face to the Everton supporters".
