A new shopping centre in Clonmel is set to employ a further 200 people in the coming months.
The Showgrounds shopping centre, which was officially opened today, has already created 300 jobs and is expected to have created a total of 500 once it is fully occupied.
The retail centre, which has 32 units, was opened by Taoiseach Brian Cowen this morning. Twenty-five units have been filled to date.
An extension to the cebntre is already being develop a five retail unit extension to the Showgrounds is already being planned which could provide an additional 250 new jobs. The extension, which is being proposed by Limerick-based Greenband Investments, has already been refused by An Bord Pleanala, but a revised application was submitted earlier this week.
