A rescue operation is under way 250 miles off the west coast where a Spanish-registered vessel has been taking water.
The vessel put out a mayday call earlier this morning, and an RAF Nimrod aircraft from Kinloss, Scotland, and an RAF Sea King helicopter carrying pumps have been sent to its assistance.
A rescue helicopter from Shannon is on standby in Blacksod, County Mayo. Two other vessels are also at the scene.
The vessel is expected to make its way to Killybegs with the help of the rescue craft.
