Two men are to be sentenced in February after two men from a repossession firm were assaulted and threatened with an agitated boar when they called to a pig farm to reclaim items.

Marin Danci (25), Elfeet, Newtowncashel, Co Longford, now living in Athlone, pleaded guilty to threatening to kill or seriously harm the two repo men.

He also pleaded guilty at Longford Circuit Court to assaulting the two men but reporting restrictions were applied as the owners of the pig farm, Donal (54) and Margaret (52) Connaugh- ton, were on trial on similar charges and had pleaded not guilty.

On Thursday, Ms Connaughton was found not guilty on six charges while her husband was found guilty after a six-day trial of false imprisonment, threats, assault and criminal damage.
