The many fans of the late Theodora Fitzgibbon, celebrated food writer with this paper for many years, will be happy to know that she has joined the ranks of Samuel Beckett, W.B. Yeats, James Joyce and Brendan Behan. No, not a posthumous work of fiction found deep among her papers but a newly commissioned portrait, which will be added to the collection at the Dublin Writers' Museum.
The portrait, which was executed by Kinsale-based artist Louise McKeon using photos of Theodora, was presented to the museum by the members of the Irish Food Writers' Guild, an association she helped to establish, at a lunch sponsored by the Olive Oil Information Bureau on Thursday.
