THE five people accused in connection with one of Europe's biggest drugs seizures appeared before Cobh District Court yesterday.
The five are: Ms Teresa da Silva Roy, Puerta de la Cruz, Venezuela; Mr Howard Charles Miller, Old Fisherbeck, The Old Lake "Road, Ambleside, Cumbria; Mr Gordon Richards, North Hill Cottage, South Mill Lane, Brighton; Mr Roman Smollen, Rodney Bay Marina, St Lucia, West Indies; and Mr James Noel, Hospital Road, Casteries, St Lucia. They appeared before Judge John Clifford on charges of possession of cocaine on September 29th last at Cobh with intent to sell or supply to, others and with the illegal importation of the drug into the State.
At the request of State Solicitor Mr John Brosnan the defendants were all remanded in custody to appear before Castlemartyr District Court tomorrow.
