A postmortem is expected to be carried out today on skeletal remains which were found in the Dublin mountains at the weekend, writes Tim O'Brien.
The Garda Síochána said the human remains were found by hill walkers at about noon yesterday. They were discovered in an area known as Slieve na mBan Óg.
Investigating gardaí sealed off the scene yesterday afternoon and the remains were expected to be transferred to the City Morgue in Marino last night.
The State pathologist has been informed and gardaí said a postmortem would try to determine the cause of death. No information was available as to the likely age of the remains last night.
