THE recommended route of the South Eastern Motorway, travelling in a south east to north west direction, leaves the M11 Motorway north of the Bray/Wilford junction, at Crinken heading north west to a junction to be built for traffic exiting for Shankill.
It continues north west over a bridge at Brides Glen to Laughanstown junction, where a link road will be made to the existing Wyattville junction on the Loughlinstown dual carriageway.
From Laughanstown junction the motorway will continue to Carrickmines, passing just south of Carrickmines tennis club, then along the northern boundary of the local authority housing at Ballyogan, on council lands.
From here the proposed route goes through the "relatively open lands" of Leopardstown racecourse, taking in some lands which belong to the IDA, Leopardstown Park Hospital and the British ambassador's residence at Glencairn.
The road crosses Leopardstown Road at the junction with Murphystown Road and continues to a Sandyford junction directly east of Moreen Estate.
From here the road heads west, passing the southern side of the Central Bank currency centre, turning south west to a junction with Ballinteer located on open space between the Lamb Doyle's and Ballinteer.
Continuing south west, the route crosses Blackglen Road before turning north west and running parallel to houses along Harolds Grange Road, to its junction with the recommended route for the Southern Cross Motorway.
