Lusaka - Mr Jean-Pierre Bemba, who heads one of the rebel forces in the Democratic Republic of Congo, yesterday signed the peace accord designed to end the war there, witnessed by presidents Frederick Chiluba of Zambia and Benjamin Mkapa of Tanzania.
The two main rebels groups operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo failed to sign the agreement when the a leadership wrangle erupted in one of the groups the Goma-based rebel Congolese Rally for Democracy.
