WHEN Roscoff chefs and TV cooks Paul and Jeanne Rankin give public food demonstrations the most popular question they are asked not how to julienne a carrot or how to bake an alaska - usually the audience goes straight for the personal. "We're always asked if we fight all the time or if we're really married at all," says Jeanne, aware that their screen personas can appear less than harmonious.
The pair is in Dublin for another round of food demos at the Ideal Homes Exhibition three a day for five days. "They got us at a weak moment," laughs Jeanne.
Unsurprisingly the Rankins say that business at their Michelin starred restaurant in Belfast has fallen off in the past few months, having experienced a boom during the previous year. "There are hardly any visitors from the South or even foreign tourists anymore," says Jeanne.
