Leeds United captain Lucas Radebe has agreed to extend his contract at the English premier league club until 2004.

Leeds United captain Lucas Radebe has agreed to extend his contract at the English premier league club until 2004.

The South Africa international will sign the extension today, following pre-Christmas meetings between his agent and club chairman Peter Ridsdale, the clubs official website said.

As part of the new deal, Radebe will also be granted a lucrative testimonial against South Africa for 10 years' service at the club, which he joined in September 1994.

"It's a terrific deal for Lucas and is at the right level," said Radebe's agent Gary Blumberg. "But the crucial element is the testimonial because we have been pushing to do something like that."
