Racing at Leopardstown this afternoon goes ahead after conditions at the track "improved considerably" from yesterday.
The first day of the track's Christmas Festival was lost when the ground was found to be waterlogged and today's card, which features the Ericsson Chase and woodiesdiy.com Christmas Hurdle, was also under threat with an inspection called to assess prospects.
But racecourse manager Mr Tom Burke said: "We're okay - good news at last. We were dry overnight and the track has improved considerably from yesterday actually.
"We're more than pleased because we weren't terribly optimistic yesterday. But it's worked out well and we're thrilled to be going ahead," he said.
