More than 1,500 homes were destroyed in Rwanda by earthquakes linked to the volcanic eruption in neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The earthquakes have been occurring throughout the week since Mount Nyiragongo erupted on January 17th, spewing lava across the DRC town of Goma.
"A government delegation is currently evaluating the needs of the families who have been left homeless in order to be able to help them," a radio report said.
The hardest-hit province was Gisenyi, bordering the Goma area, but houses in neighboring Kibuye Province have also collapsed, it was reported.
