PSNI investigates two separate racist attacks

Police in Northern Ireland are today investigating two separate attacks which they believe may have been racially-motivated.

One man was arrested following an incident in which a petrol bomb was thrown at a group of Portuguese nationals in Dungannon, Co Tyrone.

No one was injured in the attack which occurred at around 2.45 a.m. in Market Square.

Meanwhile a 34-year-old man was attacked by seven individuals including two women in the Alexander area of Armagh at around midnight. The man sustained a number of fractures to his ribs and upper body but is said to be in a stable condition in hospital today.

A PSNI spokesman said the service was treating the incident as a racially-motivated attack.
