Two separate investigations are being carried out by the Garda and the Irish Prison Service following the death of a prisoner in Limerick Prison.

The man, aged in his 30s, was discovered unconscious in his cell at around 8pm last night.

Gardai said the circumstances suggested that foul play is not suspected.
