The trial of a priest who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of indecently assaulting a female in a confessional box more than 15 years ago will take up to three days, Dundalk Circuit Criminal Court was told yesterday. The man faces three charges of indecently assaulting the female on dates unknown between July 31st, 1981, and August 3rd, 1982.
The offences are alleged to have occurred at a number of locations in Drogheda, Co Louth. An earlier court was told there would be 10 witnesses. Judge Patrick Smith granted an adjournment and the man was remanded on continuing bail.
