A Catholic missionary, accused of cheating British social security out of benefits by failing to declare his income and that he was a priest and owned three houses, has denied the allegations.
It is alleged Father Daniel Magill (59), of Peterborough, repeatedly and dishonestly misled the Department of Social Services about his true financial circumstances. Yesterday he told a Liverpool Crown Court jury the claims were untrue.
Father Magill told the jury that he had been born in Ballymolloch, near Larne, Co Antrim.
