Warsaw - The Polish President, Mr Aleksander Kwasniewski, launched a civil lawsuit yesterday against newspapers which reported he had contacts with a Russian spy three years ago.
"The reports, which are a pack of lies, harm the good name of the President. Hence the lawsuit," said the presidential spokesman, Mr Antoni Styrczula. Mr Styrczula said the allegations, published a week ago, were part of a campaign to discredit the Prime Minister, Mr Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz's former communist alliance
