Steve Staunton is fit to return, having missed the last four matches after undergoing a double hernia operation, but the Olof Mellberg-Ronny Johnsen combination has impressed. Mark Delaney is back in full training after recovering from a broken bone in his foot although this game may come too soon. Graham Taylor must decide whether to give a first home start to Stefan Moore who impressed as a substitute when he replaced the out-of-form Darius Vassell at Anfield.
Ledley King is Tottenham's main doubt because of a flu bug and will face a late fitness test. Glenn Hoddle hopes to welcome back defender Dean Richards and skipper Teddy Sheringham, who missed Sunday's 4-3 victory over Everton with knee injuries. Les Ferdinand and Steffen Freund are available after serving suspensions.

Birmingham City will have record signing Clinton Morrison and midfielder Aliou Cisse back. Morrison and Cisse missed the 4-0 demolition by Arsenal at St Andrews while serving one and two-match bans respectively for five and 10 bookings. Geoff Horsfield will serve the third game of a four-match ban although he is currently sidelined after undergoing a hernia operation earlier this week.

Charlton expect Scott Parker, who had seven stitches in his knee following a challenge by Chelsea's Graeme Le Saux in last Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge, will be fit. Manager Alan Curbishley hopes Gary Rowett, the #3.5million close season signing from Leicester, will be fit to return next week.
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce hopes to welcome Michael Ricketts back from a hamstring injury. Jay-Jay Okocha (also hamstring) is ruled out for a fortnight with Kevin Nolan is set to take his place. Gudni Bergsson returns and Bernard Mendy, Paul Warhurst and Bruno N'Gotty, are in the reckoning.

Kevin Campbell could return for Everton after missing two matches with an ankle injury, although Brian McBride is on stand-by. Wayne Rooney is still suspended but David Weir and Thomas Gravesen are available after completing bans. Richard Wright's knee injury could mean that Paul Gerrard gets a rare chance in goal.
Sunderland boss Howard Wilkinson will make changes to the side that knocked Bolton out of the FA Cup with Kevin Phillips and Tore Andre Flo expected to replace Kevin Kyle and Marcus Stewart up front while Jody Craddock and Phil Babb should return at the expense of Emerson Thome and Joachim Bjorklund in central defence. Bjorklund joins Kevin Kilbane, Stephen Wright, Jason McAteer, David Bellion and Claudio Reyna on the injury list. Sean Thornton is pressing for a first Premiership appearance in midfield. Julio Arca could retain his place after scoring against Bolton if he recovers from a hamstring strain.

Leeds are without Jonathan Woodgate, who faces up to six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a serious thigh tear in training. Dominic Matteo is likely to switch from left back to centre back alongside Danny Mills with Teddy Lucic coming in at left back. Robbie Fowler, who has not trained this week due to the move to Manchester City which collapsed yesterday, is in the squad and is almost certain to be on the bench.
West Brom's first transfer window signing Ifeanyi Udeze is included in the squad. The Nigerian international defender has joined on loan from PAOK Salonika for the rest of the season and his inclusion appears to put left wing-back Neil Clements' position under threat. Baggies skipper Derek McInnes will be challenging for a recall after recovering from a shoulder problem and playing for the reserves against Leeds on Monday. Scott Dobie is set to replace the suspended Jason Roberts in attack and partner Danny Dichio.

Chelsea are missing John Terry, who injured his back in the 4-1 win over Charlton last week. Mario Melchiot is fit to return following a thigh injury but Mario Stanic, who also missed last week's match, is expected to be out for a further two weeks with a knee problem.

Defender Titus Bramble is included after playing 90 minutes for the reserves in midweek following a long-standing hamstring problem, while Andy O'Brien, who missed the 2-2 draw with West Ham with a back muscle injury, remains a doubt as does full-back Andy Griffin, who hurt an elbow in training and will undergo a late fitness test.
City will be without goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel for the game against Newcastle after he injured his thigh in training. Carlo Nash will deputise. Eyal Berkovic remains troubled with a groin injury and is ruled out while Shaun Wright-Phillips will be absent because of a domestic matter, although striker Jon Macken returns to boosts City's attacking options after Robbie Fowler rejected a move to Maine Road.

Liverpool will be without Senegal midfielder Salif Diao who is serving a one-match ban. Bruno Cheyrou and Milan Baros were withdrawn late on from a 3-1 reserves defeat on Thursday which suggests they could be fighting for a starting place. Dietmar Hamann is a month away from first-team action and Gerard Houllier, short of midfield cover, could recall Djimi Traore at left back with John Arne Riise pushing into midfield.

West Ham manager Glenn Roeder will name an unchanged squad unless he can sign and register a striker in time to play. Having boosted his squad with the signing of Lee Bowyer, Roeder is still trying to bring in a striker, but has been frustrated in his attempts so far. Defender Tomas Repka sits out the second game of a four-match suspension.

Ugo Ehiogu (fractured ribs and punctured lung) is likely to be out for a further six weeks while Dutch midfielder George Boateng (knee) is progressing well after surgery and could return by the end of the month. New loan signing John Eustace is included in the squad but having had just one day's training with Boro since joining from Coventry he is unlikely to be involved.
