Danish midfielder Stig Tofting returns to the Bolton squad after launching an appeal against a four-month jail sentence imposed for assault and midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha could get a start after catching manager Sam Allardyce's eye with his substitute appearance in Monday's draw with Sunderland.

Liverpool (1) v West Ham (15)

Steven Gerrard's fitness remains a concern for Liverpool - the England midfielder has recovered from a hip injury but manager Gerard Houllier felt he struggled physically in the 1-0 defeat by Valencia in midweek. Defenders Stephane Henchoz and Abel Xavier are again sidelined through injury and illness.

Glenn Roeder will be without strikers Paolo di Canio and Frederic Kanoute, who are both suffering from groin injuries, so Jermain Defoe will again start and Titi Camara could figure against his former club.

Man Utd (4) v Southampton (10)

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to have top scorer Ruud van Nistelrooy available, after the striker missed the last three United games after being troubled by a hamstring problem. David Beckham, Juan Sebastian Veron, Ryan Giggs, Fabien Barthez and Laurent Blanc are set for returns to the side defeated by Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday, while Wes Brown is nearing a return after his ankle operation. Roy Keane, still battling back to fitness following hip surgery, will start a five-match ban next week unless he launches an appeal by today's 5pm deadline.

Saints midfielder Rory Delap will return to the squad after missing last weekend's 4-2 win over Fulham with flu while England defender Wayne Bridge is also expected to play after overcoming an ankle injury.

West Brom (18) v Man City (16)

Sean Gregan is West Brom's only major injury worry, the midfielder-turned-central defender has been battling to overcome an Achilles injury which forced him to be substituted during the 2-0 defeat at Chelsea last weekend. Young utility man Adam Chambers (knee) is also back, while boss Gary Megson has to decide whether to keep faith with Scott Dobie or recall Lee Hughes to partner Jason Roberts in attack.

City goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel is ruled out with a recurrence of a knee injury. The 38-year-old had hoped to return after missing the win over Birmingham with a flu virus but his long-standing knee problem has put paid to those chances, so Carlo Nash will play.

Blackburn (7) v Aston Villa (14)

Blackburn manager Graeme Souness looks set to hand a starting role to striker Andy Cole, who came on as substitute in the UEFA Cup defeat to Celtic in midweek after recovering from a hamstring injury. Cole is set to renew his striking partnership with former Villa favourite Dwight Yorke with Egil Ostenstad dropping to the bench, while defender Henning Berg is struggling to overcome an Achilles injury.

Aston Villa striker Darius Vassell has suffered another setback and misses out. The England man was out against Manchester United through illness and now has a toe problem. Stefan Moore could be given another outing alongside Dion Dublin.

Fulham striker Facundo Sava will miss out due to his calf injury. Forward Louis Saha is still three weeks off a return from his ongoing hamstring problem, while midfielder Sean Davis is out until next month with his fractured toe. Boss Jean Tigana is also concerned about the fitness of Martin Djetou (knee) and Steve Marlet, who Tigana fears may be tired.

Dennis Bergkamp is hoping for a recall to the Arsenal starting line-up. He has recovered from an Achilles injury but has not started a match since September 25. Patrick Vieira completes his two-match suspension, while Martin Keown, Ray Parlour and Giovanni van Bronckhorst are also expected to miss out due to injury problems.

Leeds (12) v Everton (8)

Leeds midfielder Olivier Dacourt is extremely doubtful after picking up a groin strain in the UEFA Cup win over Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Lee Bowyer, who missed the second round first leg tie with flu, should be fit along with Nick Barmby - who was substituted midway through the second half due to a tightness in his hamstring. Defender Teddy Lucic comes back into the squad but Venables remains without the injured Dominic Matteo, Robbie Fowler and Seth Johnson.

Wayne Rooney is set to start on the bench for resurgent Everton and David Weir is back after missing the win at West Ham through suspension. Thomas Gravesen faces a late fitness test after a build-up of fluid on his knee. Lee Carsley is expected to retain his place in the starting line-up over Niclas Alexandersson after his superb winning goal against West Ham on Monday night.

Tottenham (5) v Chelsea (3)

Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle believes Darren Anderton, Stephen Clemence, Ledley King and Alton Thelwell are still short of fitness despite their comebacks from injury in a midweek reserve game, however Anthony Gardner - who was on the bench last weekend at Liverpool - could be in contention.

Chelsea will still be without wingers Boudewijn Zenden (ankle) and Jesper Gronkjaer (compassionate leave) and midfielder Mario Stanic (stomach strain). Although Celestine Babayaro is available again after injury, Graeme Le Saux is expected to start at left-back despite going down with a virus in midweek.
