Scare over - power has been restored in Bray, Co Wicklow, where thousands of boxing fans are gathering to watch Katie Taylor’s Olympic final bout.
The ESB said it received reports of a power cut in the Bray area at about 4.05pm, only 40 minutes before the start of the fight, which is being shown on big screens in the town centre.
The power was restored at 4.35pm.
Gardaí are advising people planning to watch the bout on the big screen in Bray that there is car parking available at an old disused factory on Boghall Road.
There will be a shuttle bus from this location to the Shoreline Leisure Health and Fitness club where the Olympic final is being screened.
There is also parking at Killian's school on Boghall Road from where there is pedestrian access to the event, gardaí said.
A shuttle bus from Bray Dart station to the event has also been laid on.
Gardaí advised people planning to attend the event to travel early and abide by gardaí and stewards instructions.
Gardaí would also like to inform the public that the area in and around Shoreline Leisure centre is a residential area and patrons are asked to respect the local community.
Alcohol has been prohibited at the event and its environs.
