A postmortem is to be carried out today on the skeletal remains of a man found in a field in Co Donegal.

The body is believed to be that of a Polish man (34) who was reported missing in Donegal in June.

Two Polish men discovered the remains when mushroom-picking in a field off the de Valera Road, Gortlee, early on Wednesday evening.

There was no evidence of a struggle, but gardaí have refused to rule out foul play pending the results of the postmortem by State Pathologist Prof Marie Cassidy today.
